Some kind of mortgage scam, claiming to "lower my interest rate". They quoted a rate far higher than what I am paying, so it is obviously either a scam or a cold call in violation of the revised telemarketing rule; either one is illegal. Most likely a scam since they are hiding their caller ID info and didn't identify themselves. They are probably looking for credit card numbers. DO NOT EVER GIVE OUT ANY KIND OF INFORMATION TO PEOPLE WHO CALL YOU!!! Don't even give them the time of day. Even if the caller ID shows a familiar name, it may be forged! The phone company really does not have any idea who is using their network--Caller ID is often faked.
